does a 3.1 gpa really put me out of the running at gt, nyu and uf? even if tax gpa is a few pts higher?

Law review? Moot court? How many tax courses?

Not sure on your chances but I would at least add Northwestern.

And according to Christ-Choice, if you repeatedly chant amen amen amen, hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah, you can get into any school you want. Lol.

NYU probably won't happen for you--very competitive. I'd also say you are marginal at the other two programs. Your GPA is a bit lower than what is generally accepted at UF and GULC.

But you are at a Top-40 law school -- so that will certainly help. If you were at a Top-25, I'd say you'd have no problem.

I honestly don't know what law review or moot court has to do with this discussion. I had neither of those on my transcripts and got into all three.

Sure, it helps -- but I strongly doubt those activities will tip the scales one way or the other (unless all things are equal, which they never are).

My feeling is that they look at where you went to school and your rank there. Just my 2 cents.

My impression from a variety of sources is that law review may offset a slightly lower gpa, assuming your tax grades dont suck. Not sure about moot court but maybe a similar effect?

What do you think?

Dear Bayern,

I'd rather gamble on your admission. perhaps you won't be admitted from all the afore-mentioned unis, but I feel confident you'll have some positive feedback. best of luck!

13243546 -> I would say you are on pretty solid ground, unless you got bad grades in any tax classes; although if you are top 2%, I don't suppose it's possible that you got bad tax grades.
