I am considering applying for the NYU Tax LLM. If anyone has applied, is currently in the program, or is planning to apply, I would like to discuss that here.

How competitive is the admissions process?

I have already practiced at a law firm, so I am not interested in getting the LLM for that reason. I have my own business, and need more tax knowledge for that purpose. Do you find that they only want applicants who plan to work at large law firms? I've been there, done that, and I'm not interested in going back. Are there many NYU Tax LLM's that have nontraditional aspirations?
