Hello all. New to the boards here...
I graduated from a T3 law school in 2004 with middle of the road grades at best. Did a visiting year at a T2 law school during 3L, so my GPA and Rank are off as a result since the visiting grades were not used in connection with one another on my transcript.
I lost family on 9-11 and suffered poor grades during 1L. I made the Dean's List during 2L and scored equally well during 3L.
I work for a large well-respected eastern region firm in their tax department. I have been here about 8 months now. Many of my fellow associates and group partners have received their LLM from NYU.
A partner has asked me to apply to NYU for the coming fall semester. What are my chances of getting in? Will NYU consider my personal circumstances when evaluating my application.
Thanks to all.

Well, I guess NYU doesn't have a soul after all...
I didn't have high hopes for getting in, but now need to figure out where to go from here. I figure I will reapply in a year or so, but can anyone provide some insight on where to go from here? How can I bolster my application? Will NYU let me take classes in the meantime to get some credit (and learn something) in the meantime? Is it appropriate to contact the school and find out what to do to increase my chances of getting in next time around?
Can anyone recommend any good e-LLM's that don't have a distinction of being an "e-LLM"?
