Hello -
I am planning on applying for the LLM at NYU for the 2020-2021 school year.
I have not yet submitted my application, but will do so in the coming weeks. The deadline is not until December but I would much rather apply sooner than later. I am hoping to get a scholarship.

Does anyone know if we need to mention the word count at the bottom of the personal statement?

I don't think you need to.

I expect to gain my LLB (low 2:1) in May 2020 and would like to apply for NYU LLM Fall 2020 start. However, I know that NYU strongly prefer candidates with at least 1-2 year(s) full-time postgraduate work experience. Although I have done a vacation scheme in a city firm and have good extra curricular activities, I still worry that I might be put in a considerable disadvantage.
The professor who knows me well and wrote me the letter of recommendation this year will retire soon, and he made clear that he will not be able to write me a new letter next year. This is one of the reasons why I want to study masters immediately after my bachelor's.
Should I really work for 2 years before applying? However, I don't know if a letter from an employer would be more helpful than that from a professor who is an established researcher and knows me well for 2 years. I would appreciate some advice.

I think you don't need to make separate applications for LLM scholarships, as they will automatically consider every candidate for a scholarship. Am I right?

Is anyone applying for the general LLM program at NYU, the combination of subjects I am looking for is unfortunately not available in the specialisations. Just needed some clarity on what will be better a general LLM from NYU Law, or a specialised one.
