Hey, I think it would definitely be worth applying. I was admitted to both LLM programs with similar credentials. I think what is more difficult is applying for scholarships/funding to do the LLM. But that may not be an issue for you. Please feel free to PM me if you’d like to discuss further/have questions about the application process. All the best!

Yes, you should definitely apply - I got into both schools with similar credentials. As the other poster has said, you may struggle to get scholarships/funding, but you absolutely have a shot at getting in, and I would emphasize your professional experience/publications etc in your application. Both Columbia and NYU (and I think U.S. law schools in general) put weight on your post-law school experience and the strength of your recommendations. Good luck!

No problem, happy to help! I went to Columbia and it was a great experience! But honestly, both Columbia and NYU are incredible so you can't really go wrong between the two. Columbia was the highest ranked school I applied for, but I did also get into a bunch of other Ivy/T14 LLM programs (some with financial aid offered), so if you're interested in other schools I think you also have a good shot of getting in. But I just really wanted to be in NYC in the end because it seemed like the best place to be to get a job after the LLM (which I did end up getting).
