Hi. Im planning on taking the Bar in February and I was wondering if I can study the Bar by myself. I know there is a set of Barbri books, but where can I find the cheapest? Which book of this set you think is the most important? Thanks!
NY Bar books? Studying alone.

Hi, I took the BarBri's home-study course and successfully sat the NY bar exam in Febryary 2009. I have all the material that I used for studying for the exam still available if you are interested in buying it (or some of it) for a reasonable price. I would especially recommend trying to get hold of BarBri's Mini Conviser and the lectures + notes and also to do as many practice questions as possible.

Hey guys do you mind me asking - Did you do an LLM course last year? are most of your classmates also taking the bar in NY/Cali? What is the job market over there at the moment??
i am hoping to also take the NY Bar after finishing my LLM in 2011, but have heard bad things about jobs - especially if you are an LLM..
thanks!

Hi, I would like to ask as for my case, a LLB from the UK, and not yet qualified without LPC, am I eligible for the New York Bar exam? Do I need to go through Certification by Board of Law Examiners procedure? Or I can apply directly online?
Thank you and pls advice.

Hi Yanzlaw,
Yes you are most probably eligible. Sometimes they have issues if you are studying a dual honors degree, but a straight LLB should be no problem. You will need to go to the website and find the eligibility checking forms, fill those in and send them manually to the New York address along with a copy of your transcripts.
I too studied in the UK for an LLB and am currently studying for the NY Bar after receiving confirmation of my eligibility.
I hope this helps,
Good Luck!
