Northwestern vs. Georgetown

lawyer1

I got accepted to the general Llm at Georgetown and to he kellogg/Llm at Northwestern. I want to focuse on business oriented courses, since I intend to work in that field.
Which is better? I also applied to NYU, but haven't heard anything, and since people have been getting letters of acceptance in the mail, I am not counting on it.
I am having a hard time deciding. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Don't be too pessimistic about NYU! If you read the post on NYU properly you find that only 2 people have received admission so far (one of them being a Hauser). And since they send out about 400 acceptance emails, there certainly would have been many more posts on the board if all admissions would have gone out yesterday.
As for your decision between Georgetown and Northwestern, Georgetown is particulary well-known for international law not for business. But I don't know about Northwestern.

Between Georgetown and Northwestern, I would go for Northwestern; most definitely if you got into their program with their business school:
- several people of my office went to Georgetown and not all were as "happy" about it; this is often however a personal-related thing;
- the lawschool of Northwestern has a better ranking, curriculum seems more developed + the school in general has a better reputation;
- Chicago - as a city - is way more attractive than Washignton, in my opinion;
- etc.

I am still waiting for news of NYU too.

Good luck!

My specialty is int'l law, so I would choose Gtown over NU. However, both of them are good schools. If you wanna focus on bus laws. Def. go for NU.

thanks for the suggestions.
I did some more thinking and I have decided to go to Northwestern.
Has anyone else been accepted to the Kellogg/Llm, and plan to attend?

Dodo is absultely right! Although i am not in the Kellogg program, its a great program and an exhausting one! since its alot more hard work!! Sure worth it tho!
Also Northwestern is known for corporate law and the certificate from Kellogg would count coming from a to notch business school...good luck with uur decisions...its a tough time of the year! and this board sure does help ease the tension and anxiety (sometimes I have to admit it increases the anxiety!)
