Has anyone tried to defer to 2021 yet?

I did! For Fall 2021

Did they approve it and what did you say in the application?
Actually I got my I-20 already, but it seems i can't really get a visa until Decemeber. Plus some new policies in my country made travelling even harder. So I thought maybe I should defer.
It would be really helpful if you could provide me some info.
