Dear all,
I am an attorney practicing in India for the last 3 years now. I have worked extensively in corporate and commercial transactions and have worked for some leading corporations in India and have a credible work profile.
I wish to apply for an LLM this year and I am keen to join NYU Singapore campus for their duel degree program.
As far as my grades are concerned, I did not have anything spectacular in my mark sheet and I have a very average score which I consider is very important for getting an admission. I have a second class in my degree and in terms of what I have read on the discussion board, ordinarily anything short of a first class is usually discarded and since in India we do not have a ranking system, I would place somewhere in the first 30% of my class. I could get a good recommendation from a High Court Judge who I have briefed as a counsel before he was elevated to the bench and now have appeared before him in a number of legal disputes.
I would be very grateful If some of the members could enlighten me or guide me in terms of my prospects in getting an admission to NYU.
I am not applying to Harvard, Columbia and several other leading colleges because my grades are a big hurdle but I am quite keen on the NYU dual degree program and would still like to take a chance by applying for it.
I am hoping that some of the members of the board could be in a position to guide me.
Thank you very much in advance and looking forward to your replies.

Dear Sir,
As far as I know, the grades do help alot while getting throught he application process but Is you write a very impressive statement of purpose (Personal staement) and have very good recommendations, you have a fair chance to get through NYU@NUS......I would suggest you to write a lucid statement of purpose emphasisng on your accomplishments in practicing Law and cover up your grades by showing participation in extra-curricular activities....
NYU@NUS reviews applications at rolling basis....so sooner u apply, better ur chances are.......apply now.....at the most u'll be denied adm, ission and INR 3500 would go waste....not a big amount to take a risk for following ur dream though.....
