Hello All,
I've also been accepted in Michigan. I see that this thread is from last year so I believe someone must have been completed his LLM in Michigan. Could you please share your experience there?
I'm still waiting for the grotius scholarship. Does anyone know the typical amount? is it possible to get full scholarship?
To be honest, I will go to whichever gave me the biggest scholarship. I've got USD20k from Minnesota and USD25k from Tulane, soooooo.... any opinion guys?
Thank you thank youuu

HI there
Are you thinking of general LLM or International Tax ?
I would put in my mind (on top of the scholarship) the University ranking, I guess U of M is highly ranked compere to Minnesota and Tulane, so it is a factor you would like to take into account.

I'm taking general LLM. actually, my decision will solely be based on the biggest scholarship. I know for sure Michigan's reputation and I would love small town like Ann Arbor but if they dont give me generous scholarship, most likely I will turn down the offer.
sooo, does anybody know my chance for the Grotius Scholarship?

Not that I know anything about the Grotius Scholarship but even for those who do it is most likely impossible to estimate your chances without knowing a single thing about you. You might want to enlighten everyone on your credentials. :-)
Michigan being a top law school, I'd guess you have to be pretty good to receive a scholarship. ;-)

well, I'm from Indonesia, which is still a developing country so it is hard to provide self-funding to attend law school in the U.S.
I graduated from the best law school in Indonesia, in the top 10 percentile of my class. I believe I have a quite good working experience as a corporate lawyer in one of the best law firm in the country, I have done several pro-bono works by teaching workshops in energy law in several law schools in Indonesia. I have excellent recommendations from 3 of my professors back in the law school. In the future I want to teach in law schools.
My weak point will be my toefl score and publication. I never had any formal publication and my IBT toefl score is just 101.
So how is my chance? =)

Don't be affraid of not having publications...
Those who are not into teaching never have... or hardly. SO that is no issue. Unless You really want to teach. But then again, not everyone will have them. In my country (Belgium) getting a publication is close to impossible.
TOEFL score is not bad
