Do you think it is possible to find love during an LL.M degree ?
Love and LL.M

That's unlikely. if love is what you're looking for you'd better go for an MBA.

ahh...nice topic u got there. why is it LLMs can't find love and MBAs do?

The problem with finding love during an LLM is that it's probably with another lawyer.

Ahahah...quite an original topic indeed.! I'd say everything can happen...I remember that during my year as exchange student half of the people who had boyfriend/girlfriend ended up breaking with or cheating on them... :D
So why would an LLM be different? I would say there are even more chance as there are more arguments in common...Saying that everyone else is a boring lawyer is not such a strong argument, Bender! :)

I guess the only underlying principle governing the probability and practicality of finding love during an LLM (or law generally) would depend upon the level of one's stubborness.
If one is a rock, an absolutely astute person having no place for tender feelings of any kind, one may be able to afford one's love in the legal profession. Having fought argument after argument during the day, one would only love another argumentative evening. So, if one is super-cool, there is no pressure in the blood, and nerves just dont know how to play, its just the right choice baby !!! Your love lies in an LLM.

So how's the law school ranking love wise?
I'd think Berkeley is in the lead?

Two friends of mine attended LLM in the US recently. One got married right after finishing the course and she is pregnant now. The other is going to marry next August. Both husbands were LLM mates : )

Not so sure, two friends of mine currently enroled in major law schools other than Berkeley (HLS, UPENN) are dating one with a foreign lawyer and the other with a french lawyer just like her.
They told me the 1st rank goes to NYU...

I certainly hope so... and incidentally, if you are 1) enrolling in UF's tax llm this coming year; 2) female; 3) single; and 4) reasonably attractive, please P.M. me. :)

I guess that NYU has an advantage since NY is such a cosmopolitan city, but then again, so is Chicago and San Fran, or LA.
As for me, I'm getting married before my llm so that I can take her with me. (she is NOT a boring lawyer like me)

If you're looking for love... take a trip to Aruba, it's cheaper than an LLM and you'll find a most propitious environment! :o)

I like this thread! Hiya everyone...I finally decided to start posting since the wait to hear from schools is seriously killing me. Anyway, I for one am excited about the prospect of finding love during the LLM...for two reasons: 1. I've gotten into GT so far and the prospect of DC and the melting pot that comes with it is just too exciting to bear! and 2. I love LOVE European accents! (oh and the men are not too bad either) :) So add them both together and I am very hopeful!
Finally, for anyone who's interested...I'm 5'10", dark skin beautie from So. Miami Bch, FL, love college football (GO GATORS) and have a wicked sense of humor if I do say so myself. ;) Cheers, and good luck to everyone!
