Hi,
I am an attorney in India, and have a total 5 years of experience as an in-house in IT companies, out of which, I have been working for more than 2 years in a major US based IT company here. My work is very much focussed on IP law, software licensing and international contracts, mainly with US clients. Though I have a fairly decent work experience and I am from one of India's most reputed law schools, I was an average student in college with not so good grades. I wish to do LLM now with a specialisation in IP as it is very relevant for my career enhancement. If I get employment in US after LLM (even as a paralegal in any IT company), it would be great or else I would come back to India and would take up a similar employment as I have now.
With my background, I don't think I can make it to top 10 US univs. So I am focussing on mid-level univs which are in the top 100 like U of Washington, Santa Clara Law School and Univ of San Francisco, which have good LLM programs with IP specialisations. Since my grades were not all that great in college, I am very sceptical about getting admission in these colleges and I am thinking if I should also apply to colleges which are not so reputed but have fairly good LLM programs with IP specialisation. Can anyone please recommend a few such colleges in US? And also, any tips for me to take care of when applying to the colleges I have mentioned above?
Thanks,
Radhae

Hi Radhae,
I am a student at the University of San Francisco School of Law and I highly recommend applying to USF, especially since you are interested in Intellectual Property. We have a stellar LLM program here and offer an Intellectual Property and Technology Law program in particular. The professors are extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the work that they do and I really can't say enough good things about the student body. We are known for being an extremely friendly student body, and from personal experience, its really true. Its really worth applying here, I say go for it!

Hi AniaBednarczyk,
Just wondering if you could tell me a bit more about UCSF...I I've got a JD from a good Canadian School with a specialization in IP. What are the admission criteria like?
