In today's tough job market, earning a JD after finishing your LLM would make you more attractive to law firms. Some schools, like the University of Hawaii's William S. Richardson School of Law, allow their LLM students to transfer LLM credits toward a JD degree. This does not require taking the LSAT exam.

Wow and I am sure that after getting your JD from the university of Hawaii all the major law firms will be standing in line to hire you... Come on, let's get real. These days it doesn't matter if you are a newly qualified JD or a foreigner with an LLM. The chances of getting a job are slim. The market is extremely tough. In the past many people were able to find a job after earning an LLM degree from top 10 schools . Today this is not the case. I have lots of friends in top law firms in New York and California and they keep on complaining that they do not have enough work. They also mention that there are a lot of deferrals. This is likely to overflow the market even after the current crises ends. Take it into consideration.
