Hi, Can someone help me with these questions. I am in my final year of LLB in India. I would like to do an LLM in Intellectual Property Law. I have some doubts about where to go & which universities are good. I have 3 possible countries on mind which are USA,UK & Australia. In Australia I have looked at all universities that offer LLM in IP Law & I have narrowed down on Monash University, Australian National University & University Of Queensland. In UK I have interest in University Of Aberdeen & Bournemouth University. All the above mentioned universities have as pretty interesting curriculam & all of them have spring intakes. One particular university that interests me the most is University of Aberdeen but that is in Scotland. Let me ask a few questions so that I can clear my boubts & be sure as to where I would be studying. Someone please look into these queries & kindly answer them:
1. How is it living in USA.
2. What are my chances of getting an employment there after I finish LLM? (This is because I do not want to return to India immediately after finishing LLM because it costs me a fortune to just finish my study in USA).
3. Is it ok to work part time while studying in USA?
4. We are allowed to sit for bar exam in 10 different states after finishing LLM in US? Is this statement true?
5. Which place do you feel I should be going (USA, UK & Australia) ?
Also can someone suggest a good university in USA that offers LLM in IP Law that starts in spring. The cost of education in US is very high. so if someone can suggest some good universities in US that offer qualiy education for cheap (I mean with a tuition fees around $20,000 for the whole year). I shall be really grateful to whoever answers my queries.I need to take a decision as to which country should I go for an LLM in IP Law. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for a reply jagz, I did post these queries in Oct of 2005, I did contemplate a lot on where to go for an LLM & it took me well over 8 months to come up with the options. I dropped out the idea of heading to US for an LLM cos it's way too expensive, I have decided to apply to the UK univs cos they are affordable when compared to the universities in US. I would start off the applications soon, by the way I am applying for the Jan'07 intake now. Hope you are going to the US then. Good luck Jagz. By the way I am from Hyderabad. And yes I forgot to add, The states that allow foreign LLM grads to take the bar exam are: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Michigan, New Hampshire, Newyork, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Tennessee & Virginia.
