Hello All,
As I am starting to finish up my applications to several tax LLM programs I was curious if anyone has any thoughts on discussing my lack of work experience in my personal statement.
While I believe myself to have a strong academic resume, some of my commitments (including working on a dual Masters Degree in Personal Financial Planning & being the Editor-in-Chief of the Estate Planning & Community Property Law Journal) have forced me to take several classes during the summer so my only relevant work experience is an externship with a local Legal Aid Society. While I am quite proud of the work that I did for them, I do understand that my lack of work experience could be something of a hindrance.
Is it worth discussing in my personal statement, or should I discuss the more positive aspects of my personality, academic experience, resume, etc.?
Thanks for your input!

You should emphasize on the positive aspects of your background without.making much reference about weakness or the lack of experience you may have. you should check out some advice regarding PS at www.top-law-schools.com. Good luck!
