LLM before JD

Hi,
I was interested in potentially doing an LLM before a JD. There is a international conflict and security law program I am interested in, and because i have time now and I may be able to get a fellowship for this program, I thought this would be a good time. Do you think it is appropriate to do an LLM before a JD? Could this help or hurt law school applications? What are the pros and cons of doing it before?
Thanks!

Personally, I think it would hurt your JD application if your results are not as good. It depends on individual circumstances really - if you have a weak LLB previously then a strong LLM may boost your JD chances (vice versa - if you get what I mean).

You should also bear in mind most JD programs allow students to take subjects from their LLM offerings so you may technically b e able to complete your international conflict and security subjects without actually spending an extra year / resources on a LLM!
