LLM at Columbia University

Legalade

Hi all!

I've recently discovered the joint International Criminal Law LLM at Columbia and University of Amsterdam. I have some idea of the general expenses I would incur in Europe, but I'm wondering how much it would cost to spend a semester in NY.
Any help will be appreciated.

If you rent an efficiency near the law school, $1000 to $1500, will be a good estimate(depends on where you want to be the good side or the base side of Manhattan). You will also need an equal deposit. You will also need $400 for monthly expenses, if you eat out and eat cheap. If you go out with friends or order in a lot you might run up higher bills. If you find cheap markets in brooklyn and haul in food and cook $200 should see you through comfortably. It's all relative. You might want to add the metro fares which run up $100 odd per month for unlimited travel. It's a good perk and makes everything else easy to do, including meet friends and move around the city as you please.

Good luck.
