Ciao all,
Im interested in a good IP LL.M. program in the US. Also a general program in a law school with specific tradition and experienced teaching body in the field would be ok.
So far I identified Berkeley, where I've already applied, and Washington. Is there any other law school with an ip focused program where it is still possible to apply for the fall 2005?
I found a program which suits to my needs in Boston University, Chicago-Kent University, De Paul University and San Francisco University, for example, but I dont have idea about the quality of those institutions.
I'd be gratefull for any feedback about the places I named above and for general advise on the matter.
Hope someone can help me. Thanx in advance.
Gian

Hi Gian,
I would also like to focus my LLM on IP law and my first choice to that respect would be the Stanford LLM in law, science and technology !
I also applied to Berkeley.
I think BU has a great reputation and a very specialised program to but I didn't apply there.
Good luck

Stanford and Berkeley of coruse come first in IP, but you might also consider Washington U in St Louis and Santa Clara University, where Donald Chisum (Patents) is teaching.
I had a tough choice last year as I was admitted to both SCU and WUSTL, but not Stanford or Berkeley... In the end, I ended @ Cornell, because it's Ivy League and I'm not disappointed with the visiting professors in IP/IT (Dan L. Burk from U of Minnesota (Cyberspace & Copyright) and Anthony Shaw from Dewey Ballantine LLP (Patents)).
However, since they are only visiting, it cannot guarantee a good prof next year in the same area... Georgetown is also neat, and the Havard's Berkman Center for Internet & Society (with John Palfrey) is a neat option, but hey, it's Harvard ;)
In a nutshell : a non-specialist law school with good reputation and good visiting prof can be a good call.

George Washington University in Washington, DC also offers a prestigious LLM in IP Law:
usnews > Law Specialties > Intellectual Property Law Rankings
1. University of CaliforniaâBerkeley
2. George Washington University (DC)
3. Stanford University (CA)
University of San Francisco offers an LLM in Intellectual Property and Technology Law, USF may not be that known abroad, but I know that at least one USF professor is also teaching IT law at Boalt Hall / Berkeley.

Yep,
Harvard deadline is very over...
It was really soon (dec. 1). I had to take the TOEFL very early to be able to apply.

Hi everyone:
For those who has applied or will apply for IP-LLM, does anyone of you have an engineering or science background?
Is it critical to have such background?
I have no such background.... Does that mean I am not a desirable candidate for IP-LLM or for the IP-related legal market?
Thanks

Somebody has access to the continuation of the USNews ranking in IP Programms? What's after Berkeley, George Washington and Stanford?
Where is Duke and Boston for Example?

Out of the US, the University of Ottawa has an outstanding program in Law & Technology, with a broad selection of courses in IP Law.

I heard Stanford LLM program is absolutely exceptional. Only problem: 10 spots and God knows how many applicants.
