Hy All. I wonder wheter any of the CLS admitted students has already received materials and information (housing, current student email and so on) from the University?
I have been unofficially informed of my admission but I received neither the formal offer for admission nor any documentation. Thank you!

hi Acknow, Columbia sends ad letter and package by air mail. The admission officer told me that they sent out the ad letter and package to me on March 8, but I have never received them.

Tks alot Echo. Have you tried to call them again or you're going to drop CLS offer?

no, I just keep on sending emails to Ms. LarFargue asking what to do. She faxed me the ad letter and deposit form this morning, and said if I still have not received the package by next week, she may send another one. But I really doubt when I'm able to receive it...despite all the mess and the fact that no financial aid is available, I am still considering accepting Columbia's ad. But before I do that, I am still waiting for the financial aid decisions of two other schools...please let me know if you decide to go. I would also be grateful if you could share any information you know about Columbia...good luck!

I'm more or less in the same situation. no financial aid from Columbia, waiting for the outcome form the request for f.ass. to other schools. In fact, I am swinging between CLS and Chicago. As far as I know, both of them are pretty good in term of "fame" but, I believe, quite different as for the approach. Just to share same info I think you already have, CLS LLM class is about 200, while UoC is about 50. Which best is the question?

I think we just have quite similar situation. But I was very disappointed that I failed to obtain financial aid from Chicago...Columbia is a little bit more famous than Chicago in my home country, to be honest. I also have NYU, but it is also expensive and there are kinda too many students....also have several other schools, but so far none has offered financial aid ;-(( If it turns out that no financial aid is available from all of these schools, 99% I will choose Columbia.

Hey guys,
From Ireland and I just got admissions pack this morning. Took about two weeks to get here. It basically consists of a hard copy of the pdf document available on the admitted students website, but in a very pretty folder with colour photos of Columbia. It has a directory of the staff complete with photos and qualifications and a brochure on some of the professional development seminars they run like Deals, White Collar Crime, Sentencing etc (all of which look absolutely amazing btw). It also includes the admissions letter which is the same as the e-mail they sent. I dont know if you also got a second e-mail giving you information on housing and visas and your "cuid" number which you must use to create your e-mail account. The CUID Number functions like a replacement for a Social Security Number. The deadline for housing is 31st May and it says it is decided on lottery basis. I think there is a website called craig's list which is very good for finding accomodation. I think thats about everything. Basically, everything you will get in the package is already available for you online, so you can get cracking with Visas etc.

Many thanks, irishguy23. The information is very helpful! It's a pity that I haven't got the package as well as the second email :-(
