I've been admitted to CLS. Will anyone here defer your enrollment at CLS? If so, could you please tell me how to do it?
(1) Do we have to send them an e-mail or a letter (with signature) explaining why we can't enroll this year?
(2) the deadline for $500 deposit is on March 10th but the deadline for deferral is in May. Is it possible to accept and pay $500 first and then send them a request for deferral later before May?

I am facing some financial difficulties and it cannot be resolved until later on. At this moment, I really don't know what to do. CLS is my dream school and I don't wanna lose my place there. If I can't be part of it this year, hopefully I'll be next year.

There must be quite many admitted students applying for deferral mostly due to the concern about bad economy. If you are really in sudden but serious financial difficulty that may not be overcome shortly, you'd better convince the school of that impossibility - I know that NYU didn't grant deferral last year to some admitted students who made their trips eventually...

I don't know for sure because law school are misterious, but I do believe that you should give them a call, explain the situation and see what happens. There are might be more people at the same situation as you and the school might be sensitive to this reality!
