Hi all,
Mostly all schools provide that they can not verify the application status via telephone, e-mail due to a large number of applicants.
Ok.
At the same time they are to send confirmations regarding the application. For ex. HLS sends two - first on the receipt, second when application is complete.
I wonder how long does it normally take for the school to send a reply, specifically HLS? I mean from the moment the DHL or any other carrier reports of the materials delivery.
My application to HLS was delivered on November 16. I still haven't recieved neither first confirmation, nor second.
What about other schools (Columbia, NYU)?
Has anyone recieved something yet? In what terms?
Thanks to all.

CLS sent several e-mails, first saying that they had received my application, but were waiting for the TOEFL scores, then saying that my application was complete.
Have heard nothing from NYU and Harvard so far.

I recieved several letters form CLS as well.
Generally my fears concern HLS and NYU.

Thank you,
Obviously, I shouldn't worry.
But I didn't know that HLS sends confirmations via regular mail, I thought they use e-mail.

I got an e-mail today saying the following:
Thank you for submitting your LL.M. application to the Graduate Program at Harvard Law School.
Please read the following information carefully:
Your application is currently under review; if we should require anything further from you, we will notify you via the e-mail address that you have provided on your application.
If you have indicated in your application that materials related to your LL.M. application (recommendation letters, transcripts, TOEFL, application fees, etc.) have either been sent separately from what you have provided, or have yet to be sent to our offices, we will add those materials to your file as we receive them. Rest assured that all loose materials will be read and evaluated by the screener reading your application; however, it is in your best interest to make sure that those materials arrive here as soon as possible - ideally, by December 1.
For students currently enrolled in a degree program during the course of this academic year (2006-2007):
If you should receive fall and/or winter grades and/or a transcript for the degree that is to be completed during the course of this academic year (2006-2007), please send it to us as soon as it is available.
For students using the LL.M. Credential Assembly Service:
We will call up your record from the L.C.A.S. at our discretion. It is your responsibility to ensure that the L.C.A.S.'s evaluation of your transcripts and/or TOEFL is complete.
For any other questions not answered by this e-mail:
Please do not hesitate to contact us via return e-mail. Please anticipate delays during this busy time; we will answer your e-mail as soon as we are able, ideally within 3-7 business days, hopefully sooner.
Admissions decisions will be made in mid-March of 2007; you will be notified of decisions via the mailing address for all correspondence that you have provided on your application.
We thank you for your interest in the Graduate Program at Harvard Law School.
With thanks,
Graduate Program
