Harvard Wait List

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any information on what it means if you get wait listed by Harvard? I'm wondering specifically:
How many people are on the wait list?
How do they rank people on the wait list or is it simply a lottery when places become available?
Harvard say they will know more by mid-May, what happens in mid-May -do people who are accepted have until then to accept their offers?
In past years have many (any) people on the waiting list gotten an actual offer of admission?
When I ring Harvard I always just end up on an answering machine and the reply to an email I sent didn't answer any of these questions so would be grateful if anyone could answer even one of them! Thanks a million!

hi,
I can only answer one question: most of the offers end at 25th of April (at least mine). Then I think they will give the place to someone else.

However, I think in general that not a lot of offers from Harvard get recjected.

Thanks! Harvard seems to give much longer then the other unis for acceptance! Which is good for you, bad for me, lol. I absolutely agree re people not taking a spot at Harvard but it also means that a place on the wait list is very precious too, if I could just figure out how many people are on it -5? -100? Argh. Thanks a million though!
