I have made up my mind and am going to Harvard! There must be more people on this board who made the same decision. It would be nice to get to know you! Maybe we can assist each other in all the formalities ahead of us. And I can't wait to meet my future classmates, even in a virtual reality:)
I am a 23 year old Dutch girl. I am graduating this spring. I am interested in law and development, law and economics, international law and (critical) legal theory.
See you @ Harvard next fall!!

26, from the Philippines. Interested in Constitutional Law and Securities Regulation. I thought I was relatively young for an LLM student, but then I realized my country requires 8 years of university education and the better part of a ninth year to take the national Bar exam, so most law students are 26 when they pass the annual exam.

33, Polish national. Graduated 7 years ago (studied quite long - in Poland and China). I worked in law firms in Poland for a couple of years (including a Big 4 consulting firm), as research assistant at law school and than set own law practice. I managed to build an international law practise in provincial Polish town :). My interests are focused on international business & trade law, EU law, Asian law, international IP/IT issues, comparative law and ADR. I have published a lot (articles and books).
I had a chance to change Polish bar admission system pursuing a precedent litigation against the bar association (in Supreme Administrative Court and Constitutional Tribunal - both in full panel). I sort of enjoyed strategic litigation (for being so complex - I managed to exclude judges that I did not like etc.; the case had nationwide response and I was ranked among best Polish lawyers by newspapers etc.). That's of course nothing when compared to being admited to Harvard :)
Hope to see you guys soon!

It's hard not to get lost among such outstanding lawyers and academics )))) Respect to everybody admitted to HLS!
Here are my 2 cents. Or may be more.. ))))
26, Russian. Graduated in 2001 from a top 3 Russian Law School with honors, then Ph.D. in 2004 considered to be the first comprehensive legal research in REPO transactions in Russian legal science. 6 years of investment banking legal practice. Part-time faculty member in a top 3 Russian Law School where I have designed a special course on Securities Regulations never existed there before. A number of publications as well.
I am interested in Corporate Law and Securities.
I think I will print out this topic and keep it with me during the orientation in HLS. Cheers!

I feel like an idiot: most of you wrote Ph.D. dissertations already and have oustanding professional records. I am 22 and never did "high standing" independent research (years of readings and writting)... On the other side, it will be a privilege to study alongside you guys: you're all first-class!

I would propose to take a laid-back approach to credentials and academic/professional records.

Good Move :-)

Hi all!
Congrats to you all for being admitted. I'm a member of the 2006 class of the LLM program at HLS. I hope we'll see a large number of you on the forum that has been set up by the graduate program staff for you (the info should have been given to you - probably in your admission packets if I recall?). This is definitely a useful resource for information for all your questions about housing, courses, etc...

Hello everybody! I am 28, from Pakistan. Currently working at an international law think tank in Pakistan and teaching public international law to students enrolled from Pakistan for the University of London (External) Program.
I graduated in the State of Punjab (one of the provinces of Pakistan) with the highest distinction out of more than 4000 candidates in each of the three years of the LL.B. Prior to this, I received my undergrad from the US. Recently worked for 6 months at the Immediate Office of the President of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague. Prior work experience includes internships at a Michigan Senator's Office and the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. I am a contributor to national newspapers of Pakistan. I shall be receiving the Presidential Award this year at the National Day of Pakistan.
I have been admitted to the International Legal Studies Program. Had to make the very difficult choice of turning down offers from NYU (Grotius Scholarship plus position of research associate) and other reputed schools.
I wish each one of you the best of everything and very much look forward to meeting you all at HLS!!

It was a letter by regular air mail actually, not fed ex.
But I am confident you can also ask for your financial aid decision by email, if the letter doesn't arrive shortly.
You also need the letter for your visa, so I think it is a bit strange that the letter has been sent by regular mail...
