Hey Guys,
Have any of you received your application complete e-mail from Harvard? I have not and I am wondering if I should send them an e-mail and ask if my application is complete.
Thanks

I have not received anything from Harvard. I think I will wait a couple of weeks before I send them an email to check.

No need... Anyone can track his/her status when he logs in his/her submitted application page.
Then, it's quite easy to check if your app is complete or not.

Actually I have been tracking my status using the "Track Your Status" tool. All it shows is that my transcripts were received...nothing else. At present, my recommendation letters merely say "submitted" not even "received".

Submitted = received for the online recommendations.
The other materials should be not applicable/submitted/received.

I have my transcripts and LSAC report marked "received" under "Track Your Status"...everything else is "No current status. Please check back later".

I emailed Harvard, and they told me that about the recommendations, you check it in the option "recommendations".
"Important notice about online recommendations:
To track the status of recommendations, please click on the Recommendations link located in the menu options found in the top left corner of your online application. This will take you to a page titled Step 5: Recommendations, where you will be able to see the status of your respective online recommendation(s). Recommendations already submitted will be indicated by the status Received.
Since you paid the application fee by credit card, the "Check / Money Order Status" would not be updated.
All of your transcripts received from LSAC have been tracked accordingly.
Kind regards,
Law School Graduate Admissions"
I expect this to be of some aid

Emanuelpessoa,
Thanks for sharing that information. It certainly does help. I paid for my application via credit card as well so that explains it.
I can't stop thinking about what Harvard's decision will be. I looked up the housing rates and found them to be quite expensive. But it will be worth it if I am accepted (with generous financial aid) because at the end of the day, Harvard is Harvard and this would really be an amazing opportunity!
Cheers

Well, Harvard provides financial aid as much as you need it. If you receive an offer, itmeans they consider you a potential future leader, and they will no let you escape due to lack of money, believe me. And bear in mind that each penny you spend to be there, yours or borrowed, will be multiplied so many times you will laught at your difficulties in the future to come.
I am also waiting for the answers. I applied to HLS, YLS, NYU and to Oxford's MLF.
Best luck for us all

I guess the so called tracking tool is just a tool for keeping the applicants busy until the decisions are made. it is just a toy. My tracking status shows that the recommendation letters have not been received yet that sucks. so do not worry about it and just email them to update your status.
emanuelpessoa I have heard that the financial facilities provided by HLS for students are not that attractive when it comes to repayment do you happen to heard about that or do you have any first hand information about that?
cheers

I received the first email around early December and still have not received the second email either. My status checker also shows that my file is incomplete ( although I did submit everything). I think I am just going to stay still and wait til March 21st ( seems like that is the decision date). If I do not received any email from them in March, I will write to ask then.

Yeah, maybe, but that won't be because of one year at Harvard doing a LLM.

It WILL be because of the background you will have. Opportunities will come easir, and surely will be better ones.

click on the left menu, on recommendations, to see their status. I had the same doubt you regarding the traking tool. They told me exactly what I am telling you.
I got not firsthand information, sorry. Well, I consider the repayment attractive, for I come from Brazil, where student loans are really expensive. A comparison with foreign Schools system is allways more advantageous to them, believe me. But think that you will earn well after Harvard, so there must be not much trouble in having enough money to repay the University. If I got any news or statements on that, I promise to share it here.

I have the same problem as you. I received the first email around December, and my file shows that they have not received my official toefl score yet, even if my official score was included in my LSAC report. I'll wait also, but please let me know if you receive news.

Dear Acasan,
Could it be that they don't send "Application complete" email to everybody? In the first email, they said that the application will be reviewed once the file is complete and we can use the track status tool to view whether it is complete. I don't know about the system. So, I am just assuming.
About Toefl score, they did not request mine either. Perhaps this is due to the fact that I had another degree (non-law) that was taught entirely in English. I read somewhere that if they requested the LSAC report but not the Toefl score--it means they think your English is good enough. In addition, they did not request the transcript of my non law degree. So, I have a feeling they select only the items they want to review.
For your update, my account has not changed since then. If you receive any news, please also let me know. I am going to stay still and wait til March :)

Hi there,
Just one question: Flowergirl, you mentioned that March 21, would be the decision date?
Could you just tell me where you found this information?
Good luck to us all! :)

Hi Cosmopolitan,
It just that i came across this info while i was reading LLM guide conversations of the past year applicants to find out why the university did nit request my Toefl score. So, it is not a date confirmed by the university- as the first email suggests " late march." Hope i did not get anyone's hope up in receiving the decision soon. Well, who knows- u may get an acceptance email earlier than that, Cosmopolitan :) Best of luck!
