Harvard Admission Decisions

If it is 8 AM indeed, I wonder if they send admission letters at, let's say, 7.40 (7.50) AM???

Sounds quite bizarre,...

no mystery here really ~ its 9.23 in Cambridge right now. I am guessing loads of e-mails are about to go out right now, or have already gone out. Probably most (happy) recipients are still asleep:) just my two cents.

It sounds like a bad joke, dont pay attention to people here trying to make us feel even more anxios than we really are.

There is no chance that this guy is for real. relax.

Not all bad news is false news.

Are the emails that people are getting to those who have asked harvard to respond early because they have pending offers from other schools, or are these emails that harvard is generally sending meaning that it has decided to change the date from 21 to 12 (which seems very unlikely)?

I just realized that there is a trend of dismissing good faith information as incredulous simply because it does not accord with what some would like to hear. The incentive to lie as to admission on an anonymous forum such as this is not really high I would think. Already on the Yale thread I notice that some people who posted early about their admission were hounded out as liars by a few vigilantes. This is not to say that some people do not tell lies ~ but my argument is simply that the presumption should be one of truth and not the other way round. Else people may soon start opting to keep quiet rather than be mocked on this site...

It may very well be that decisions are still going out...but that does not negate the fact that someone may have been lucky enough to receive his own this morning.

I agree, But if you check all the parameters you'l see that this guy cant be serious.
1. The Username was created today.
2. He claimed to have received the email on 7-40 am cambridge time.
3. no other admitted HLS people posted here because they were asked to keep quiet (i know of 3 personally).

Relax and wait for the 21/3
Good luck

1. My username was created today - does not make me a liar
2. I dont recall the claim - he said he had "just" received an e-mail. It was 8.45 at the time (i know this coz am in cambridge). It was someone else who asserted that it couldn't be that time here...
3. There are different tranches of admits - some get earlier decisions - Hausers, Fulbrights etc (and are told to keep quiet). Others get the deluge of e-mails that come when the Grad prog decides to release the decisions en masse - even before the 21st indicated date...

Calm down guys, people who say that were all ready admitted are lying, for obvious reasons:

a) They didnt post the body of their admission e-mail
b) The hours they state in their posts doesnt make any sense
c) They are trying to bother us all
d) If HLS says that admissions will be announced on March 21, lets wait.

I will open another post for people who are serious about helping others, and also assessing them in the right path.

I can just say: I withdrew my Harvard application per E-Mail because I accepted a NYU scholarship offer. This was on March 6th, I guess. A few hours after sending this E-Mail, I got a phone call from HLS asking me whether I had already accepted the NYU offer. I told HLS that this was the case and that I would definitely attend NYU, but that I would feel deeply honored by being called by them. So obviously, HLS did contact some applicants before the date of March 22nd.
