Hi guys, I'm from the Philippines and I submitted my application, together with my financial aid application on 15 November 2013. I did not intend to request for an application fee waiver, but because of the recent super typhoon that struck my country, I decided to request for a waiver and donate the USD85 to the victims instead.
I have a concern regarding my application though. Only 2 of my referees submitted their recommendation letters on or before the 15th of November. My other referee (my most important one since he's the Dean of the law school where I teach and he's a Harvard LLM alumnus) has not submitted his yet. Succinctly, my question is, may my 3rd referee submit before the 01 December deadline? Or will it adversely affect my application for admission (not just the request for application fee waiver)?
Thank you, in advance, for your responses.

charmed, I believe it's better to submit the last one, the highest score overall. It's same in all three scrores, you meets the minimum in only one section.

Hey,
I am in a similar situation. 2 of my referees submitted their letters but my 3rd referee still has not. I think that 15 November is not a deadline but they say that it is better that all materials reach Harvard before 15 november just to be sure that there is no problem with your application. I think you may submit letters until 1 december anyway.

I submitted on 15 November for Application Fee Waiver purposes. Isn't November 15 the deadline for that?

Actually I do not know about the application fee waiver since I didn't apply for it. Maybe it would be better to send them an email and ask. They reply pretty quick. Best way to be sure.

What you wrote is incorrect
3. What is the deadline for applying? What does the preferred deadline of November 15 mean?
The official deadline is December 1. While we do not have an early review/early admission option, we strongly encourage applicants to submit their application materials by November 15 to ensure that all documents reach our office by the December 1 deadline.

So that means you can submit supporting materials after november 15 as long as it reaches to Harvard before 1 december. And for Lors which are to be submitted online it is ok to submit them after november 15 until december 1. Right?

I guess so
5. How do I submit an application?
In addition to submitting the Harvard Law School Online LL.M. Application by the deadline, applicants must make sure that any required documents (e.g., transcripts, TOEFL results) be sent out in time for delivery to our office on or before the deadline.
Does anyone know how long it takes them to update the application status?

I remember that something like "up to 2 weeks" was written on their track status page.

My question regarding the November 15 deadline for Application Fee Waivers is premised on this paragraph in the Application Fee Waiver Form.
"After completing this form, you must save it to your computer and then upload it to the appropriate
page in the section called Step 3: Essays/Uploads. In order for your Application Fee Waiver
request to be reviewed, you must submit both your application for admission and your financial aid
application at the same time. If you are applying for an Application Fee Waiver, please submit
your application by November 15."
Since it requires the submission of the application on November 15, will the delayed submission of my 3rd referee adversely affect not only my fee waiver request but also my application to Harvard.
Thanks for your responses!

I have applied before the 15th deadline and my documents have also been sent in before that deadline. I checked for proof of delivery of the courier. \But when i track my status of application it still says "No current status. Please check back later". Any of you facing the same thing? Im getting worried since now they have closed for thanksgiving break and by the time it reopens itll be past the dec 1 deadline. I dont know if they have recieved my documents or not :(

Same here. Fedex report tells me Harvard has received the recommendation letters but the status screen keeps telling me to check back later for over 20 days. I didn't ask Harvard about my application status because the mail I've received specifically tells me not to do so. Getting real worried now.

I think there is nothing to worry about. There are approx. 1,500 applicants every year and they are evaluating each of them. Therefore, they are really, really busy. I sent my hard copies via DHL and it says it's delivered, then there is no problem.
If admissions says (in writing) that they did not receive your documents, then it becomes a problem. Other times, have a cup of tea and just try to relax :)

I would love to see statistics about how admission rate correlates with the number of days you submitted before deadline.

Or for that matter admission vs. how much time you spent preparing the application!
