Has anyone else not yet received an email (or other notification) to acknowledge that their application to Harvard is complete? I am in this situation and am curious as to whether others are, too. I submitted my application online on 2 October, but one of my referees submitted my reference online on 29 November. That reference is still showing as 'submitted' and the status hasn't changed to 'received' under the recommendations section on the website. I sent Harvard an email about the situation, to check everything is fine. Do references actually have to be 'received' online by 1 December? Or is it adequate for them to just be 'submitted' by that date?

no, I have not received any confirmation that my application is considered complete. According to the status check all required materials have been received, though. As HLS appears to be one of the slow schools (really slow according to last year's decision dates), I don't expect to hear from them any time soon.

Regarding your submitted but not received items I can maybe offer some relief: HLS is one of the few schools to apply a application deadline, as opposed to a completion deadline. As far as I remember they explicitly stated on their website that once the online application is submitted the applicant may complete the required materials after the deadline of Nov. 30. So I wouldn't worry!

Thanks for your response. I just received an email from Harvard, who said that my application was complete and all 3 recommendations were received. They're going to check with Embark on the technical aspect of why that particular recommendation hasn't changed from the 'submitted' status.

I got an e-mail saying that they hadn't received a transcript and to send it ASAP. The transcript is actually on another one. I'll need a letter from the Registrar of my law school to say that.

I only found out my application was complete after I emailed them (and wouldn't have done that if it weren't for that letter of recommendation still showing up as 'submitted' rather than received, as I was worried they may not have received it properly). I don't recall Harvard stating on its website that it reviews applications and responds to applicants on a rolling basis. Please let me know if I stand to be corrected, anyone...

Hey everyone,

in my case the only thing the status tracker thing displays as "received" is the law school transcript. None of the other sections appear to have been updated since I submitted the application. Do you think I should check with them whether everything has been received, or should I just wait for something to happen?
