Let me attempt an interpretation. CC takes comfort in the spiritual gifts, stating that they are more valuable than the materialistic "worldly" presents. Conclusion: A rejection is rejected as inferior to the everlasting infite love by Him. That's also a way to deal with it, I guess....

This is profound but I think it means you should seek to enjoy every moment good or bad because at the end of the day no one can live forever. Therefore Harvard or no Harvard, we will pass just like most living things, if not all.

My husband has two friends who went separately to Yale and Harvard 8 years ago, they enjoyed their experience but do not consider it as more memorable in their life or significant for their careers. Most times, the man is nothing, his work is everything. So don't dwell on these bastards, if they rejected you. most of them usually do not have great lives - if you dig enough you'll see that.
