Anyone going to GULC's Open House Day on March 18? It looks like a really great session. I am trying to change some travel plans to try and make it.

I am considering it... do you have any itinerary for it yet? I've only had it referenced in my acceptance email. I have yet to receive the FedEx package.

I found the schedule on the admitted students website. Do you have access to that yet? Basically it's an all day affair with different tours/receptions/info sessions. I think it goes from about 10:30 to 6:30.

No, I don't have access yet. Which program at G-Town are you considering attending?
I'm interested in the Securities and Financial Regulation LLM.

Tax - I'm a U.S. JD. There is tons of information on the admitted students website and a lot of good info. in the packet they send too. Congrats!

I would love to attend, but sadly it is just too far away!
How I wish I lived in the US or Canada, especially at a time like this. Being in the same time zone (or close to it) would also be helpful and relieve waiting anxiety to a small extent.

GULC Open House day is so soon? Hm, I guess I will take this as a sign that I was unsuccessful in my LLM application. Oh well, congratulations to those who got admitted - it is such an academically exciting university!

Not necssarily. I wouldn't give up hope so soon. I think they will continue to make offers through to April, like Columbia. I doubt they have made out all offers, and even if they have, there are bound to be some applicants who decline to attend another university for scholarship opportunities etc.

I would love to go but
1) I would like to receive an offer of admission first, lol
2) Anyone to offer me the plane tickets Paris - Washington ? :D

Thanks NZ_Girl - that is still good news to my ears :-) Good luck on your applications!

Thanks! I must also say that I have been very impressed by how friendly, welcoming, responsive and organised GULC is - they have always responded very promptly to my email queries, sent me a Christmas card, invitation to the open day and also sent me a book by post with detailed profiles of all their faculty members (whose credentials are extremely impressive). I'm not saying that other schools haven't been organised during the application process, they have (to differing extents - I can't even think about Cambridge without my blood pressure going through the roof!), but GULC really stands out from the rest.

NZ Girl - I completely agree. Their packet and this open house day are part of the reason GULC is still in the running for me.

Crescent1841, you have done really, really well with the outcome of your applications, which I noticed from the Application tracker. Congrats especially on getting into the tax programme at NYU, which seems to be the most coveted programme for tax grads. I'm sure whichever of the universities you end up choosing to study at will be great.

I am planning on attending the open house.

I will be attending. I live about two hours away. At this point it is the front runner based on how accessible they have been.

Deacon - I feel the same way. Plus my husband is much more interested in living in D.C. rather than New York. I think it will be an interesting day.
