Georgetown (Tech LL.M) vs GWU (Cybersecurity LL.M)

Chris1225

I got accepted to both schools with awards (GULC 25K and GWU 40K). The course content is different but there are overlaps. GWU program more USA centric and geared towards careers in government. GULC program is more holistic. My aim of applying for LL.M in USA is to get some work experience in policy advocacy/research/think-tanks/int'l orgs and thereafter do my doctoral studies. Now my questions are:

1. Considering aspirations which to choose? Which program would offer me a better network/opportunities to explore my career path?
2. Does ranking really make a huge difference or should I go for the program with more funding to better rationalize my cost?

Any insight would be really helpful! Timing is critical!

Hi there. I'm in the Tech LLM Program at Georgetown. The Tech LLM  is a very diverse approach and has a course specifically with respect to policy and advocacy taking you through the levels of it  I would suggest if you're looking at an array of options in tech, the Tech LLM at Georgetown is a great fit. Also, what's better than studying closer to the Hill?

Thanks so much for the perspective!! In your experience will GULC increase their scholarship amount if I inform them of my other offer?

I don't think this is good idea to reveal your name and the amount of scholarship awarded by repsective law school. Georgetown is good and GW is as good. I mean if it is a matter of scholarship, you might further negotiate with Georgetown since GW's scholarship seems pretty much final.
