Georgetown Fall 2018--Spring 2019 Admissions

Thanks!!! When do Georgetown usually send out admission letters for general cycle?

Well, in my personal case, I applied via the general cycle mid-December (I think it was on the 11th), and received my admission decision via email on January 5. I would say they send out decisions pretty quick. Also, yesterday I received the FedEx notification re. the admission package.

Thanks Tepp90! :) I applied via the general cycle a week ago. I guess I'll have to wait. So I guess schools do not set out an exact date on when they will be announcing their decisions?

Yes, don't give up hope. In my case, it only takes them 1 week to review and send out admission decision. Good luck!

Hey you're welcome! Yes, as Georgetown has a rolling admissions policy, they don't have an exact date. It depends on each candidate I suppose. There's nothing else to do but wait, best of luck to you!

I know this might be a delicate subject, but has anyone received a rejection from Georgetown at this stage? Congratulations to all those who have been accepted, but I'm beginning to wonder if the longer we go without hearing anything, the more likely it is we haven't been successful.

Hi, how long did LSAC take to process your transcript as having been received? I'm worried that it will take too long when I sent it 2 weeks ago already, and it should only have taken 10 working days to reach US from UK.

Has anyone been accepted who applied after January 9? I'm just wondering why it takes them so much longer now to make a decision...

Sadly, I was just informed that I haven't gained admission to Georgetown this year. Thought you all should know that they are sending out rejections as well as acceptances it seems! Best of luck to all who haven't yet heard.

Sorry to hear that. Which program did you apply for?

I believe the general merit scholarships are on a rolling basis, starting beginning of March :)

Got my acceptance call yesterday! LLM in domestic tax.

For those wondering, I applied Jan. 5 for early admission, decision was delayed for Alumnus interview, interview took place February 8, application went under review February 15, and admissions call came yesterday!

Hope to meet all others admitted. Now to wait for scholarships!

Any friendly advice for somebody who has not yet submitted an application? I was not aware the LSAC would take 10 days to process a LOR and I am worried that they will not be received by LSAC before the 23rd. I know applying on the last day, or even worse, late will lower my chances considering the rolling admissions. In my mind I could contact the people writing my recommendations tomorrow and ask them to FedEx the letter directly to the Office of Admissions, I could just wait and hope, or I could wait and turn in a late application.

I graduated in the top 28% of the University of South Carolina (T2). Seeking admission to the LLM in Taxation program. While GULC is certainly my number 1 choice, I suppose I can still apply to NYU and UF with plenty of time.
