i have been reading mostly all the posts on this site.I would suggest you to do you survey properly.
you will get foreign llm degree.you compete with JD students. go to vault directory and nalpdirectory.com
search the engine and you can see the job requirements by mostly all the legal firms and then you can place yourself. If you plan to go back to your country, then its the right place.but........
Best of Luck.

Raghu,
I think it's really unfortunate that someone who just joined the LLM Board has such disparaging remarks about it...and u only joined last night! The Board has been a remarkable source of grt information for lots of ppl and contrary to what you think, not everyone here is frustrated...and indeed, some of us here are ALREADY STUDYING in the US or have completed the LLM. If you feel demoralized then perhaps, you may wish to avail yourself of the counselling department at Penn. State or much better still, at UPenn.
It's unfortunate that you interprete ppl asking for help as 'crying' or 'desperate'. A lot of Indians and Pakistani are presently planning to come to the U.S. because those that have been here have represented themselves accordingly. While it's tough for a foreign student to get a grt job in the U.S., v.good students will always be able to step out of the 'maddening crowd' and make a difference.
THAT's what you shld be telling those who ask you for advice...not throwing disparaging comments around the Board.
For those of you who are still asking Raghu for advice AFTER reading his condescending posts...I think you all should do a double-check...plzzzzz!

I guess, what Raghu wants to tell us is that he feels depressed by the fact that job prospects are not too good for non-US law graduates. This is indeed something people should bear in mind before applying for an LLM. For me - as for most of us - doing the LLM will be mainly a way to improve career chances in our home countries. I think this should be reason enough to do spend one year at a great law school in the US (or another country). For those who dream about making it big time after the LLM, don't be discouraged. As Hyugo said: Very strong students will always be able to make their way.
