Hi Everyone.I am going to apply for some out-of-university sources of money. I sent off my application to the university I am planning to study in around two weeks ago. However, yesterday, I was browsing websites of some organizations offering scholarships and grants and found their deadlines very close say December 1st for instance. Some were demanding university confirmation letters, some others would want to have the admission letters 'if available'. I don't know what to do at this stage. I think receiving the admission letter and possibly scholarship from the university I have applied will be an advantage in receiving out-of-university funding, but I haven't received any response from the university yet and I think it's way to early to expect any, but it seems the deadlines for external sources are drawing close. What do you think I should do? Should I wait for the admission and then apply for external sources or you think I'd better start applying for such sources now?
I appreciatiate any suggestions.

What would you lose if you apply to those scholarships? Nothing I guess.
And you can always explain to them that you won't know about admission before March/April and can refer them to the universities' websites where these dates are cleary stated. Since only a few schools have early entry programs, you will not be at a disadvantage to other applicants from the same background since they won't know until March/April either.
The best way though would be to ask the funding organization directly.
