Hi everyone,
I'm currently undertaking a 12-month-long LL.M. in the UK, where the official program date is October 2010 to September 2011. I am applying for a number of US LL.M.s, for entry in August 2011. The dissertation component of my UK LL.M. is due to be submitted in August, although I can submit my written work anytime before the date.
I was wondering if the US law schools reviewing my applications would see the discrepancy between my UK term dates and the start date of their LL.M. programs? I have written an addendum/statement giving the same information as above. Do you think they will find my reasoning persuasive, or should I be worried?
Thanks in advance!

In the US, as far as I know, the induction/orientation session starts well before the commencement of the Fall Semester sometime in August. Some law schools start their orientation as early as July and I don't think they would take account of your problem of how to complete your UK LLM in time for the start of their LLM programmes -- as long as, I suppose, you fulfil their absolute requirement that you join their orientational activities.
