Hi all,
first, merry christmas to everyone. Secondly, and surprisingly enough, I received yesterday night an email from the admission office at the U of Chicago. Its title was " LLM application" and it contained the following :
"Thank you for submitting your paper application materials for the LL.M. program at the University of Chicagos Law School. We will keep your materials in a working file until we have received the outstanding documents as indicated in your application. Once the file is complete and we submit it to the Graduate Studies Committee, we will send you another email."
I guess the missing documentation they were referring to was 1 of the 3 recommendation letters: I know for sure that on of my recommenders has not sent it by mail, though he was going to do it during the holidays My hope is that this will not affect my chances of acceptance, since admissions are NOT made on a rolling basis?Has anyone received such email, and should I be worrying about that? And when do you think it would be the deadline for having the whole application complete?
Thanks for your guidance!

Hi nail,
I have received a second email from UoCh, which stated the below:
"Your application file is complete and has been submitted to the Graduate Studies Committee for evaluation.
Consideration of completed applications will begin in late November. The Committee will make three types of decisions: admission, deny, and standby group (waiting list). It is our policy to send you these decisions via email as soon as they are made. Please send an email message to llm-admissions@law.uchicago.edu if you would prefer not to receive these decisions via email.
We usually begin to send decision emails in early February and we will continue to send them through April. Candidates initially placed in the standby group will usually receive final decisions between late April and early June.
Best regards,
Admissions Communications & LL.M. Program Coordinator"
And I only send them 2 LoRs as required.perhaps they're still waiting for other docs.

I think the outstanding document is unlikely to be the recommendation letter. I know for a fact that my file was completed with only 2 recommendation letters. The 3rd professor I have asked to prepare my recommendation is still preparing it!
Cheers,
Greg
