I applied months ago but I have not received any notice from Duke. Does Duke send interview invitation to every applicant or the fact that I did not receive interview invitation means I get rejected?

Dean Obleg - will talk mostly about your aspiration and WHY DUKE and why LLM? He will talk about your future plans and how Duke can help you to achieve your goals. Chill, it's a casual interview and good luck for it!!

I'm not sure what I'm expecting from my post, but I had deferred admission to Duke for this year. I have been really excited since 2023 began but was wondering why Duke hadn't reached out to me this year to confirm anything. Then I realized (to my horror) that I had to reach out to them by February 1 to confirm enrolment. I have been feeling really depressed because I wonder if that means I've lost my place and didn't apply anywhere else. I really wanted a clean break from my old job and to use the LLM to pivot into a new role. Duke is an amazing school. Not sure what to do now and feeling very lost and helpless. If anyone has ever encountered such a situation or has any advice, please let me know. I wrote to them as soon as I realized.

My status just changed to "application sent to admissions committee" - does this mean anything? (ie getting a decision soon or still a long way?)

Hey. My status changed to that a few days before my admission so I would say that it means you will get a decision soon :)

Congrats on your admission! :) I haven't received any interview invite though, did you have your interview before the status changed? (or did they send you an invite afterwards?)

Has anyone been accepted recently? (13 Feb onwards?) Thanks, all the best to those of us waiting :-)

I had an interview last week Wednesday and received admission yesterday morning. So it's still ongoing, good luck!

My status changed to "Application sent to admission committee" the day before yesterday but heard nothing from Duke law. Have no idea if I could expect an interview invitation soon? Is interview a MUST before final admission decision?

Hi!
(1) This means your application is moving forward in the process. You should get an invitation for an interview or a decision very soon. Maybe within 1-2 weeks.
(2) No interview is not a must. However, it is most common that applicants are asked to attend an interview.
