I was offered a US$15,000 scholarship and thought about accepting it...ending up turning the scholarship and admission down. People at Duke are very nice so quite sad about it. Hope they would give it to someone who really wants to attend Duke. :)

Thanks for sharing, may I ask why did you turned it down? Where are you enrolling?

Hi!
I turned it down because I'll be going to Stanford (although it doesn't offer scholarships for LLM students :/). Good luck at Duke! I heard from current LLM students that it is great over there. People are so friendly, apartments are cheaper (one bedroom apartment at a complex with swimming pool for less than 1.2k? Not gonna happen in Palo Alto :p) and the LLM community is small enough to have great friends that will last you for life.

Hey guys, Im trying to figure out which school to attend.
I would ideally like to get a job in New York once im done with my LLM.
I have narrowed my options down to (1) Duke (2) Georgetown. (3) Michigan
Now I know that they are ranked very differently but since getting a job post LLM is so difficult, will the ranking even make a different?
Will the advantages from Georgetown's location outweigh the advantages of Duke's smaller LLM class and better rank.
Between Michigan and Duke, I dont think I can find too many differences on which to compare them. Is there any big differences between them?
Also, theres not much of a difference in reputation for these schools in my home country. Is there a difference in perception in the US?
Have to decide this weekend. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

As I noted in a different thread ranking (especially wirhin the T14) does not matter as much when it comes to LLMs. What matters is networking - if you are coming to the U.S. having zero contacts from your home country that could connect you with emloyers in the U.S. then D.C. might be a better option. But honestly, you never know where you might meet important people..

For those already admitted and who plan to enroll; has anyone received yet the web link to access to the I20 form?

Yo guys I've just been waitlisted. Any feedback regarding Duke wait list?

Anyone admitted from waitlist?

Anyone admitted from waitlist?
Actually, I don't think there is a wait list per se. For example, they first sent me an e-mail saying that they could not make a decision because of administrative issues, and then, 3 weeks later, they offered me admission. Has someone faced the same situation? Anyway, I accepted their offer!
