Columbia v NYU

For all those still waiting for a decision from Columbia, do not worry, I'm convinced that they are sending their decision file by file. I had to put them under pressure to have mine by 1st April; otherwise, I'm sure that I would still be waiting.

So, first send them an e-mail and then give them a call if you can't stand to wait any longer (don't worry, it won't make any difference regarding an admission or refusal as you have a secretary on the line, not the Graduate Committee...).

I know, I have not heard from Cambridge yet too. I called them and they said that they are sending offers in batches and I can expect one soon as soon as a decision is made on mine which could be about in a week.

I got into Oxford though... any one else who is looking at Oxford?

Megha, I have been accepted to Oxford, like you, and I am still waiting for Columbia. What college did you get into?

Just got this in response to my e-mail to Columbia:
I have given your file to the committee, I am waiting for a decision.
Thank you for your patience.

What the hell does this mean? Did she only give my file to the committee today?

I e-mailed them about 10 days ago, they replied that no decision had been reached, and thanked me for my patience. Today, as my patience is progressively disappearing, I've called them. They refused to speak on the phone, said they had hundreds of applications to handle or smth like that, and that as soon as a decision is reached, they will e-mail me. So, I'm just waiting....

Maria_Gri, thanks. I guess that's what they do instead of the wating-list: they just don't answer those ranked lower until they have a picture of who they have already invited is going to accept the offer or not.

Guys,I have a question.I am still waiting for Columbia, admitted in NYU.So,it is kind of possible that Columbia might say "yes".How is its financial program?NYU gave me 10 thous. Is there any possibility that Columbia offers more?
(A very long time ago, like 4 years, a friend, just admitted in Columbia LL.M. then, told me that they do not give out money that easily,or that their financing policy is not that "open",she was very unhappy about it).
