Ya still waiting.

I'm also waiting for a decision from Columbia (application completed on Dec. 20th).

I reviewed last year posts.
There were several people who kept waiting until mid April, and even a few of them until the beginning of May.
They will literally keep everyone waiting, although they do release expedite decisions if you send them a copy of the offer from another university with their deadline coming in less than a week.
Hope this helps everyone, and good luck to all. I'm still waiting too.

Thank you for the important info, I was in fact thinking about notifying Columbia of other offers of admission I had in order to speed up the reviewing process.
Still, I am not so sure it could be for the best...I would like to share some thought with anyone interested in.

I am also in the same position. I have offers from NYU and UPenn which I have until April 1 to decide on. Does anyone know whether it is detrimental to your chances of admission to request an expedited decision?
But I guess I really have to choice but to ask for one! Thoughts?

Hi,
I don't think requesting an expedite works against you. I had a scholarship deadline from Penn, request Columbia to expedite, and got an acceptance from Columbia before the deadline. So I'd say, go for it. All the best!

Many thanks for the quick reply! Did you have to give them proof of another offer or did they simply provide you with an answer?

I sent them an email to request for an expedite review as well and was told to send them the offer letters (with indication of deadlines) and financial awards (if any). I believe they will really look into it. My friend told me that the same thing happened to her last year and she called them to make such a request. Upon receipt of the documents required, they reverted on the next day itself. Efficient! That's why I have faith in them~:)

llm_2012, do they want you to simply forward them the acceptance emails, or do you have to send a copy by regular mail?
Posted Mar 25, 2012 04:14
I am in a position where I got accepted by a really good university.. I mean REALLY good. But I cant be happy or comfortable with it until I know for sure Columbia rejects me.
Anyone else suffering like me?
Also, if anyone's not going, I'd appreciate freeing up the spot :)

Via email only! Looking at the tight timeline, regular mail is really not feasible
