Columbia Fall 2015 Regular Track

SS2015

Hi guys!

Happy new year 2015!
I just applied to Columbia for Fall 2015.

I received the email from LSAC confirming that my application has been submitted but I have not yet received an email from Columbia.

Those of you who have already submitted your apps, I would like to know how many hours or days does the admissions committee take to send the confirmation email?

Thank you!

They will contact you a couple of days after LSAC submits your app, prompting you to create an account in their LLM website, where you will be able to see the status of your application.

Today , I received the following e-mail from Comumbia:

Thank you for your interest in Columbias 2015-2016 LL.M. Program. As we usher in the new year, we look forward to new beginnings. Gillian Lester began her tenure as dean of Columbia Law School on January 1. She is the 15th dean of the Law School. Dean Lester joins us from the University of California, Berkeley, where she recently served as acting dean of the law school. She is an expert in employment law and policy. She is excited about joining the Columbia community and getting to know our students, and we look forward to working with her!

We have a number of new course offerings this spring, including a course on Oil and Gas Law and seminars on EU Law and Institutions, International Human Rights, Law of the Sea, Extractive Industries and Sustainable Development, International Bankruptcy, and Constitutional Law. For a complete list of our new course offerings, visit here.

In the Office of Graduate Legal Studies, we have begun reviewing your applications (some of you have already heard good news from us!) and are enjoying learning more about you and thinking ahead to the next group of accomplished LL.M.s to arrive at Columbia later this summer. We review applications on a rolling basis, which means if you have not yet received a decision from us, you could hear any time between now and the end of April (and we review applications completely at random the date on which you submitted your application has no bearing on when you will receive a decision from us). We will send all decisions by email from gls@law.columbia.edu, so be sure your email spam filter does not block this address.

We send you our very best wishes for a Happy New Year and look forward to corresponding with you over the coming months!

Warmly,

The Office of Graduate Legal Studies
Columbia Law School

I don't know... I was just wondering whether it is rare or not...
Chicago, for example, has sent a lot of e-mails already, but no decisions so far.

I'm super happy and excited. Didn't know why it didn't translate well into my post.

I applied through the regular track. LSAC transmitted my application on December 31. I received acknowledgment from Columbia on the same date. I received another email from Columbia stating that my application is complete on January 1. Received my admission this morning February 17.

Hope that helps.

Haha! Now you seem happy!

Looks like you are one among the first few to receive an admission decision from the pool of the regular track applicants !

And Yes, this helps!

Congrats K818! This helps.

I'm also from Indonesia and I think we go to the same school (UI).

Are you planning to enroll or is waiting for news from other LLM programs?
