Hey people. I'm a prospective LLM applicant for the academic year 2008-2009. Columbia is going to be one of the Universities i'm very keen on applying to. After goin through their site I find that they require an overall TOEFL iBT score of 105 with a minimum of 26 on the reading and listening sections, 24 on the writing section and 22 on the speaking section. I just received my TOEFL score and have got an overall score of 104 with 26 on the reading section, 25 on the listening section, 24 on the writing and 29 on the speaking. Do u guys think I should apply or would they reject my application outright for having scored 104. This is of course assuming I fulfill their other requirements. I may mention that I have stood in the top 10% of my class of 200 and would be having a year's work experience with a leading Corporate Law firm. I would really appreciate your frank, candid comments.
Cheers!

Try asking them for a TOEFL waiver first --- i took the toefl but a no of my friends got a waiver from them....

Why submit the score if they dont need it from you in the first place? If you hv studied with english as the main language in school and is one of the languages of practice in the courts of yr country u may get a waiver

Hey. Thanks for your reply. I have considered that option but their own website clearly says that students from India, although, the medium of instruction being english are mandatorily required to take the TOEFL and also that a candidate should assume that a TOEFL waiver is almost never granted. I assume you are from Columbia, so I was hoping if I could have your frank comments.
