Hi All,

What do I believe - I have an email from CLS saying my file is complete and I will be contacted, and then there is the online applicaiton system which says one of my transcripts is missing (I sent them all in toghether).

Has this happened to anyone else??

Dont bother what columbia website says? I too had similar problems for which i contacted the admission office. They told me not to go by what website says as it is not updated regularly. If there was any document missing, they would have surely informed you.
So dont bother... i guess they are not that tech savy...

I have the same problem: I received a short email last Friday telling that my file was complete and taht I would be contacted in the future when a decision had been reacched. However, within my online status check is listed that I"owe" them ALL the additional materials...

I also believe that the status check is not important now since they do not update it regularly.

my experience was exactly the same. I would not worry about the online status. My info was updated a couple of days after I had received the email about completeness of my applications.

I wouldnt worry about the online status either if acknowledgements were sent by Columbia via email.

Guys, I just talked to a friend of mine who is currently studying at Columbia and he said that last year he received his acceptance letter by 10-15 January... Perhaps we will change the name of this discussion board to "Columbia- accepted" sooner than we expected...

I believe that the period during which Columbia send admission offers is very long. Two friends of mine were admitted last year and one of them received his admission by the middle of February and the other one three months later: almost in June...

I wish this year all we received good news sooner than them!!

How long after you guys sent the documents did you receive the acknowledgment e-mail from Columbia? My documents got there on thursday but I have not received the e-mail yet.

Sorry, there were some spelling errors in my previous article. There goes the reviewed one:

I got an acknowledgement from Columbia on December 5. They informed me they'll contact me sometime in the future once they've made up a decision. My application was really complete two weeks before the aforementioned date, but as i didn't know i had to make up an essay in order to solicit the appel fellowship, i forwarded all my application materials with the sole exception of the appel essay since i needed to dedicate some time to preparing it. Though the Graduate Coordinator replied me that they prefer receiving all documents in one single package, she said that they'd make note of it on my file and that my application would be complete as soon as they got hold of the missing essay. I'm quite impressed by the promptness of their service. They're really efficient and contacful!, What i wish to know is when i'll probably be advised on my application decision. I'm truly impatient to receive good news from them. At any rate, i wish you the best of lucks to all of you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you,

I sent my application to CLS quite late in the day. I sent my Certification Form after the deadline, as I had applied online I was not aware of the Certification Form, though I had sent the pdf version (print and signed). I haven't yet received any acknowledgement from them and the online status application check seems lazy like me. If anyone can provide help.

What is determinative in your case is that all of your supporting materials be postmarked prior to the deadline, whether 2 or even 1 day before. Notwithstanding the lateness in submitting your file, you might still stand the chance of getting through Columbia if you hold extraordinary credentials under your belt and also if there's a vacant seat on your behalf.

I havent received any acknowledgement letter yet, i think i was late(supp. materials reached CLS on deadline) and they refused my appl.

Kem,,u shud call thm up n inquire wethr they have received ur application or not,,columbia has been very prompt in responding so i cant think of any reason to explain the delay in sending th acknowledgment to u..but u spent money on it so u shud inquire..

i had sent the certification form by email (scanned and attached). i recd a mail from them saying that they dont download any material and when i called them they said they would wait for my letter. i think in the meanwhile they would not consider my application, though i hope not.

nyways i have my fingers crossed. Good luck to the rest

At my confirmation letter it is stated "Your application file to Columbia Law School's Graduate Legal Studies Program is considered complete pending receipt of your final M.L. transcripts when they become available."

Is there anyone who also faces the same situation?

Got an e-mail that my file is complete just on the 4th of January. (more than 3 weeks after I sent all docs to CLS)

I just called them today and they told me that they have still a lot of mail to open and that is why they have not sent all the ackowledgment letters yet.
