Cardozo or Houston

dinning

Hello everyone,

Im a law school student in Taiwan and Ive applied for some US law schools. After being accepted by several schools, I decided to attend University of Houston because of financial concerns.

However, after I wrote Cardozo that I will not be able to enroll in their school, the Assistant Director of Admissions wrote me a kind letter that she could make a proposal to the scholarship committee for me. And I was informed that I have been selected to receive $10,000 scholarship. This is really a surprise!

But now Im so confused. I want to study for an IP LL.M. cause I intend to become an IP profession in Taiwan after completing my graduate study. I also want to take the NY bar and try to find an intern before I go back to Taiwan for work. What should I do? I really need some suggestions. Thanks a lot!

i THINK cARDOZO, WITH SCHOLARSHIP MIGHT BE BETTER THAN HOUSTON. ALSO, Cardozo is in Ny. Might be better in terms of internship. Just my thoughts.

What school has the better IP program? That is probably the school you should probably attend. Houston is not that great of a city and, since you are only going to be in the US for a year, New York would probably be a better place to live. The only thing positive I can say about Houston is that cost of living (e.g., housing) is fairly low for a large city, and definitely much lower that NYC.

I've been admitted to Cardozo this year and I know that Cardozo has a good IP program so in my opinion this place is much better than Houston.

I would also choose Cardozo. They seem to have very good IP program + it's ranked better every year. NY would be also a plus (internships, interviews). I do not have any personal experience with the mentioned schools - neither any of my friends stusied there.
Best,
Michal
