Berkeley - the only top-10 US law school with advertisement

Lets put it this way--I do not feed trolls. :)

And I am frightfully embarrassed. :( So let me leave your precious thread to your barks and rants. Excuse me while I go and weep.

Ta!

Very mature. Please only share reasonable insights and stop teasing me for what I said to you because it's so childish. Maybe it's a good idea that you do not give this thread a visit anymore?

Cheers

Bottomline is: Berkeley is top 10 (as you said).
The advertisement on this website means as much as the fact that Georgetown does not advertise: nothing.

Placing an advertisement is a business decision that can be based on many factors: tax, lobbying, reaching a new customer sector, etc. I don't know why they decided to advertise. As far as I am concerned, neither do you.
Anyway, it does not matter. top 10 is top 10; either with or without advertisements. Either with or without flags on the entrance; either with or without adopting the colour "R" or "Y".
Focus on what really matters (faculty, alumni, location, logistics, etc.) and I am sure you'll reach the conclusion that Berkeley is among the best. It's only fair to admit that. All the rest is crap.
Business schools pick their students just as law schools do it. The only difference is that the admissions process is more demanding on business schools (GMAT exam, interviews, specific exams, etc.).

I agree that Berkeley is amongst the best ..but to say " all the rest is crap" is misguided and clearly not supported.

All top 20 US law schools are very good! Just because Berkeley is prestigious doesn't make it the best. Yale tops Berkeley and so does Stanford.

I think he Vert meant 'the rest factors such as advertisement'??? I don't think he meant the rest of the schools other than top-10.

@Vert - I appreciate your comment a lot. I think you're right.

Having said that, I still feel that Berkely may feel insecure about it's standing within the top schools though.

Oh please. Berkeley is a solid programme. It's possible to say that lots of 'mediocre people' get admitted to other top programmes (what is 'mediocre' is relative). I haven't applied there, don't plan to and have no interest in defending it other than against people's irrational prejudices.

I sometimes wonder what sort of people LSE is letting in these days...while I was at LSE I frequently wondered how some of my classmates had made it in. (Perhaps they thought the same of me.) Better to be dim than malicious, though...

LOL. Your reasoning speaks for itself. I can´t fight with that.

So far I've been admitted to Berkeley ang Gtown. It appears to be relevant to you so I'll keep you posted on the three ones I am still waiting for.

Berkeley is a world class law school. It does not admit mediocre students.

Programs are that good. IP first in the world and not to talk about the environmental law and energy center headed by Professor Dan Farber. The fact that California is broke has nothing to do with the quality of education provided.

For those worried about advertisement: don't come to Berkeley. Let the spots go to serious and interested students.
