Berkeley-financial aid

rasgirl

Hey there,
I just have a question especially for those who have been to Boalt Hall. I enquired about when financial aid decisions will be made and I got this reply "We will be making determinations in August once everyone arrives."
What if I got there and got no financial aid, what then, Stay for a semester (which I can afford) then go home!
If anybody has a clue please advise.

You probably wont even get a F1 visa if you can't show that you have sufficient funds. Very strange reply from Berkeley.

They are indeed being very strange regarding the entire financial aid matter. Having received my SID and Passphrase I checked with the admitted students page where financial aid status is supposed to be, and it states that "no aid request has been received" from me. The aid request was part of the LL.M application, so I know Berkeley received it. When I call the number stated on the Brekeley site to check the status of one's aid request, the call goes thorugh to the department of "Federal Student Aid" who informed me that have no record of an application. I can only assume this means that Berkeley hasn't even begun to deal with aid issues yet.....
