Could anyone who has been admitted to Berkeley give me a brief idea of what is contained in the admissions packet mailed to accepted applicants. I received an acceptance by e-mail , telling me to reply within two weeks of receiving the mailed material, but never received any mailed material. Multiple calls to the admissions office gleaned only the information the "materials had been mailed on date (x), and you should receive yours shortly." Date (x) varied considerably thorough several calls. I then received the "decide by the 27th" e-mail, and, and having still not received the mysterious mailed packet by that date, I accepted "sight unseen" by e-mail. Is there anything important in the mailed materials? Something I really need to know? I would apprecite a brief description of what Berkely mailed to its accepted applicants if someone has a few spare moments.

Actually, I want to know about that, too.
Waiting for information!

Actually there are only two documents inside the mail package, and not much substantial infromtion. One of the documents is "Statement for Intent to Register," and the other is about future career information. If you would accept the offer, just send the Statement back to the office.

I am still waiting for postal mail too, however already confirmed my admission via email. They told that "Statement for Intent to Register" is a must. they will send the postal mail again to let me complete those official doc. You might be in the same situation as mine. Cheers...

Hello-
I asked the Boalt Admissions Office last night (day time in California) and was told that they will be sending the admissions material (which, according to SISS, includes information on how to apply for the visa and such other information) on May. I have to assume this still leaves us sufficient time to obtain the visa?

Hi, nice to meet you here! I'm going to Berkeley this fall, too. Do you know, if as earlier as possible, when could we arrive the States? I'm also interested in Berkeley's summer session, but cannot find any course provided by Law School from the course website (maybe they have not updated yet, or Boalt Hall does not have any courses in summer sessions?)

Hi-
Boalt Hall Advanced Law Degree Programs has told me that they will be sending out our SI (=student Identification?) Numbers and PIN (=password?) Numbers next week. I guess we will be starting our application for the visa and other necessary paper work (maybe more like on-line work?).
Best,

Farah,
Youd better check with the Committee as soon as possible, preferably via telephone. You know the Committee now places me in the waiting list because they said my written confirmation arrived later than the March 27 deadline. I dont think I can make it to this years course. I am so upset.

meijung,
Did you receive an e-mail from Boalt Hall stating your situation? I did receive confirmation of the delivery of my SIR from Boalt Hall, but only when I asked them to do so. They do not seem to be so informative...

It seems that you won't have any problem for this year's course. Check how they replied to me in an email:
"We received your SIR on April 4th, 2006. Although it was postmarked on March 23rd, the deadline specifically stated that we must hear a response by the March 27th deadline. As a result, you are placed on the waiting list for the Fall 2006 school year. Best,"

Dear Meijung,
Hang on there! Maybe you could try to e-mail them again about the status by the end of April. Many schools' deadlines are set on April 15, so there might be some spaces after that date. We all look forward to meeting you at Boalt Hall.
