Bank loan to pay LLM

I need some advice. I have been accepted to a top 3 listed law school and I have received zero scholarships. I have half of the costs saved but I need to take a loan for the other half, i.e. about 42k USD.

The school does not defer admission, nor does it ever give scholarships to LLM students. This is an outstanding chance, taking in to consideration how selective this school is (only 75 students).

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Well, I guess it depend on which country are you from. Some countries give student loans to students at very low rates.

refuse your (stanford) offer immediatelly and next year apply to harvard, yale, columbia and nyu. If you got into stanford you will be able to get into at least some of the named schools with now +1 year of experience... all have decent scholarships that cover at least a part of the tuition.

There is no law school worth going into 40k debt for it. It is a 9 month program, come on... you would spend nearly 10 000 dollar per month and for what, a few letters behind your name and a few interesting lectures? It really is not worth that... If you get a decent scholarship (30k or more) and have the rest saved and if you really want to do that, than it can make sense. but spending 90k of which you have to borrow half and that most likely to a market conditions loan whose interest rate can skyrocket makes no sense...
