Hey,
Do anyone know if we must use their reference forms? Can we just send letters of recommandation instead?
Thanks,
Lisa

Unless entirely mistaken, I'm pretty sure you gotta have the personal reference forms fully completed.
The Georgetown LL.M site states that "You must also have two Personal Reference Forms completed". So you are obliged to do it.
Hope that hepls!

when I applied, I used one general reference and one using the form - and I got in. I'm guessing as long as the reference you have written is specifically for the purpose of stating that you are a good candidate then it probably isn't too much of an issue.

Hi LLMARK,
Maybe you are right.
I would take into consideration, however, that the GULC reference forms are some of the largest and most annoying forms I have seen, containing very specific questions. Unless your reference addresses all these questions punctually,I guess it wouldn't make sense to discard the form.
Buy, hey, if you got in like that, who am I to argue with you? By the way was it last year or GULC early action results are already out?
Cheers!

No, I'm currently at GULC. I applied last year around Christmas received my admission letter sometime around early March I believe...

Actually, in Georgetown application you can see at the end:
Please check the following items that you have submited with your application: Please indicate if you are applying to
"Reference forms or letters"
So maybe these annoying reference forms are not so important...
What do you call general form?

The Georgetown online application system is in my opinion the worst of the major law schools. Why can't they just use embark like all of the others?
Even Oxford, whose web page was created in the Year of the Lord 1131 AD, uses embark

Hello,
I did not want to post another subject for my question, so I ask you here:
I am applying to Georgetown LLM online and I am wondering if any of you have done so?
If so, how much time did the site take to convert your uploaded documents (resume, personal statement, add attachements) in PDF?
I cannot submit my application until they are converted, and I am in a hurry as I see that everyone in this forum has applied early action or in any case early before the deadline !!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much
Hoang

Hello, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for the last post as I'm still struggling to gather all the required documentation. Actually I have a question, in case the documentation is sent before the deadline, but arrives afterwards, would the application be deemed a late application?
And if so, do you think thata there is still a chance to get admitted?
Many thanks, and good luck to you all !!

Hey,
Do anyone know if we must use their reference forms? Can we just send letters of recommandation instead?
Thanks,
Lisa
Hello Lisa. You should ask your recommenders to write the letters and fill the reference forms only making reference to these letters. My boss told me that he did that and I got in.
Good lucky!!!

Hello Hoang. The website converts your uploaded documents instantly. Only make sure that your documents were not converted to PDF in your computer before you have uploaded them. I think you are supposed to upload documents in Word version.
Good lucky!!!

Thanks for your answer, actually my documents were converted 2 days after I uploaded them, but it is now solved :D
For the recommenders forms, I asked myself the same question, but I think the last answer is correct (it is what I have done): my recommenders wrote letters and filled the forms checking the evaluations, then made references to their letters)
Actually the form is very demanding, so that I pre-filled them before sending them to my recommenders....
For the deadline: I think if your materials are postmarked 15 February it should be ok, but in the doubt you can just send an email to the graduate admissions officer?
For most universities it is the postmark that is taken into account, but I know that for UCLA admission they ask you to RECEIVE all documents by the deadline....You should ask directly the officer I think....

My recommender just filled in his info section, and attached the recommendation letter, and I got in. He said that his recommendation addressed all the questions stated in the reference form.
