What's going on with you man??? Unless your academic credentials are REALLY bad there is not a chance that all the schools that you mentioned will reject you. John Marshall, San Diego and Santa Clara are far from being a dream pick. Don't waste your money.. You will need it. Believe me.

I have started applying to many universities for an LLM. So far, Berkeley, Stanford, University of San Francisco and University of Chicago. For obvious reasons (extremely selective universities...), I will be applying to more (UCLA, USC, PennLaw, Fordham, BU, G. Washington, John Marshall, San Diego, Santa Clara, Cornell). I SO don't want to think of the possibility of ending up being rejected by all of the schools, that I am seriously thinking of applying to more! The thing is, the whole procedure costs time, money and, most important, stress! Does anyone have anything to recommend? To all of the applicants out there : do you have a school-safety net? And if yes, which one (or ones) ??? : P

Yeah, it's really important not to let paranoia eat away at your partying funds for next year. Nontheless, if you are wondering about the most rational strategy to adopt, then I think the safest bet is to have two schools that you would kill to get into and, judging on the basis of all the information, you think you've got a shot at getting into. Then select your safety net - on that you would be happy to go to, and know that you can get into - just add value. Paranoia is what eats away at the "know" element of that proposition. Don't worry; you'll be fine.

He's absolutely right! Further, I do not see, why an Franciso should be known as a University with a rigorous admission standard?

If you have a slightly above average credential, some work experience and a nice resume, you do not have to worry. Maybe you won't get into Harvard, Chicago or Berkeley...but San Francisco, San Diego should be no problem at all!

First of all, not a man (just to get that out of the way). : )
My transcripts and everything are far above average, but i don't really know what would constitute a strong application (obviously it's more than a good grade and some work experience).Thank you all for your advice! I am officially done with adding more universities to my list. Besides, it all comes down to 3 or 4 schools. Those are the ones that I would kill to get in. Therefore, it won't be a great comfort if I get into Santa Clara but get rejected from i.e Chicago. Anyway, thank you for your support! Good luck to all of you!
