For those who already got admisson emails from Duke, what's your confirmation date? Mine is March 9 with USD 500 deposit , it's hard to make a final decison coz other schools are still pending right now. Is it possible to extend the date? (I just got AD letter yesterday)

I got my acceptance letter in Jan, and my confirmation time is Feb. 9th, which was too early to make a decision. Then I asked for the extension and they put it off till March 1st. So I think you should try to ask for the extension and it is possible for you to be allowed more time to consider it! Good luck!

I received an e-mail with the .pdf version of my acceptance letter and then received the letter via courier the next day.

I strongly believe that being rejected by Duke does not mean you can't make it to HLS... it's about these schools perspectives and what they are looking for.. I know a friend rejected by NYU and with a schollaship at Yale, you never know..
Our whole profile has a great deal to do, not only our good grades.. I am very anxious myself and this is the first time I'm applying to Duke and a bunch of other unis so I am realy "learning" here..
May I ask a bit of your credentials? are you a top% student or do you have relevant work experience..

Hi guys thanks so much for your word, they have been really helpful. This is my first year applying and it has been quite a surprise. First rejected by gulc and one duke you can imagine my devastation. This been said I'm not planning to give up, what's seems really easy for others always takes a lot of effort from my part. Ok regarding my credentials I'm a Panamanian lawyer I have 3 years of work experience, my grades above average according to lsac, I'm 27 years old. I have worked in the largest law firm in my country and now I'm working for the government. Oh forgot my woeful 97. I thinks this is what's keeping me for getting into the previous mention law schools. I've done the woeful 3 times more and nothing for me is such a waste of money and a subjective exam as someone can evaluate my speaking and reading ability quite different, it has been waste of my money.

Do not worry. There are better days ahead of you. I have been in your situation more than once ( I am 45 y.o.) and I am telling you, it is not worth a dime to be let down by univ. responses. I have been accepted by GULC and now waiting for Berkeley and Harvard (got turned down last year by HLS), Life is too short to worry be down by Admission Committee. Chin up !
